Sichuan Ethnic Publishing House was established in July 1953 and is the publishing unit in Southwest China that publishes the most Tibetan language books, the most authoritative, and the only one that uses standardized Yi language to publish various types of books. Since its establishment, the company has adhered to the principle of "doing fine public welfare and strengthening the market", editing and publishing more than 30000 kinds of books with over 400 million copies, and more than 30 books have won national awards. The current business of the company consists of six major sections: ethnic themed publishing, ethnic education, ethnic ancient books, ethnic original works, ethnic academic, and ethnic practical bilingual. The annual publication volume is 1500, and dozens of publishing projects have been selected for the national key book publishing plan. Its comprehensive strength ranks first among all ethnic publishing units for many years.
