Founded in 1957, East China Normal University Press (ECNUP) is one of the two earliest university publishing houses in China. Over the past 67 years, the press has formed its distinctive feature—“Great Education”—and has published more than 45,000 titles, mainly composed of teaching materials, academic works, and social reading materials.
ECNUP dedicates itself to developing a broad spectrum of publications through both conventional and innovative platforms. Based on a core set of values and beliefs in support of the overall education, it furthers the university’s objective of excellence in research and scholarship by identifying social trends and designing professional products according to diverse educational contexts.
ECNUP has partnered with over 500 publishing agencies all over the world, with publications translated into 36 languages and sold in 49 countries and regions. Mathematics teaching and tutorial material Series The Shanghai Maths Project: One Lesson, One Exercise has been compiled for the English National Curriculum and has been used in more than 450 primary and secondary schools in the UK. Likewise, many excellent books in pedagogy, psychology, humanities, and social sciences, such as the Handbook of Child Psychology, The Complete Works of John Dewey, The Selected Works of Karl Jaspers, The Social Animal, The Courage to Teach, How People Learn etc. have been translated into Chinese.
