China International Book Trading Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIBTC") is affiliated to China Foreign Languages ​​Publishing Administration (China International Communication Group). It is China's first book import and export organization and one of China's largest professional book and periodical import and export companies. It was established on December 1, 1949, named "International Bookstore", and famous writer, Mr. Guo Moruo, wrote the name of the store; in January 1964, the book and periodical import and export business was separated and renamed "China International Bookstore", specializing in export business; in January 1981, the import business was resumed; in September 1983, with the development of international trade, it was renamed "China International Book Trading Corporation"; in May 2006, it formed a cultural enterprise group with Beijing Foreign Languages ​​Printing Factory and Beijing Foreign Languages ​​Publishing Paper Company; in September 2010, it was transformed from a public institution into an enterprise and renamed "China International Book Trading Co., Ltd."

CIBTC has pioneered and developed the foreign trade of books in New China. Over the past 70 years, it has distributed nearly 2 billion Chinese books and periodicals in more than 40 languages ​​to more than 180 countries and regions around the world, and has held and participated in thousands of international book fairs in more than 100 countries and regions. CIBTC has created several firsts in China's book and periodical import and export business: the first to represent New China in international book fairs; the first to cooperate with overseas peers to publish and distribute books; the first to set up branches abroad; the first to use computer management systems in the Chinese industry; the first to access the international Internet to introduce Chinese publications in the Chinese industry, etc. CIBTC has now developed into a large-scale state-owned comprehensive cultural enterprise group with book and periodical import and export as its core, and its business scope covers paper management, warehousing and logistics, property management, e-commerce, capital operation, cultural communication, exhibitions and copyright transactions.
